GUNSMOKE-Starring William Conrad

Gunsmoke, one of best western radio series of all time, made its first appearance on CBS April 26, 1952. The program, featuring adult themes containing violence, was very realistic in its presentation. It was produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell and written by John Meston. Matt Dillion (William Conrad), Kitty (Georgia Ellis), Chester Proudfoot (Parley Baer), and Doc Adams (Howard McNear) became household names during the 50's. During most of the 1950's Chesterfield and L & M cigarettes were the sponsors. The show ended June 18, 1961.
